FAQ
Everything you need to know about ReBook
How do I pass on my books?
Go to Pass On, fill your details, tick the subjects you're giving away, add photos, and submit. Your books go live instantly for juniors to find.
How do I find and get a book?
Browse the Books page, find a senior with what you need, add their books to your cart. Then WhatsApp them directly or book a Rapido to pick up from their area.
Why can I only add books from one senior per cart?
So you only need one Rapido ride. One senior = one pickup location = one ride. Finish one cart, then start another for a different senior.
Is it completely free?
Yes. No money changes hands between students. The only cost is the Rapido pickup, which the student requesting the books arranges.
How does the tree planting work?
For every 5 books successfully exchanged (marked as taken), 1 tree is planted. This is tracked live on the home page. Each senior can also see how many trees their listings have contributed on their Champions card.
How do I mark a book as taken once it's picked up?
Find your listing in the Books page and tap "Mark as taken." Enter your WhatsApp number to verify it's you, and the book disappears from listings.
Which grades can use ReBook?
Grades 5 to 10. Students moving up a grade pass on their previous grade's books to incoming students of that grade.
What if I can't find the book I need?
Post a book wishlist in the Wanted tab under Books. Seniors who have your books will see it and reach out on WhatsApp. Wishlists stay active for 30 days.

Why this exists

Every year, millions of school textbooks are printed, used for one year, and discarded. The paper industry is one of the largest causes of deforestation worldwide — and school textbooks are a significant part of that cycle.

ReBook was started at The Shri Ram Universal School to break that cycle. A student going to Grade 9 has Grade 8 books sitting unused. A student entering Grade 8 is about to buy the exact same books. This platform connects them — no money, no waste, and a tree planted with every five exchanges.
